Veda “Mae” Treadaway, age 91, entered into eternal peace on Friday, September 4, 2015. Mae went peacefully with her loving niece Vicke Schneider by her side. Mae was born on April 7, 1924 in Ozark, Alabama, daughter of James and Beulah Wallace.
Coming from a family of farmers she worked in a cotton mill picking cotton and also picked and shelled peanuts. Mae and her beloved husband Ralph moved to California in 1955 and she took up a career in the cleaning industry.
Mae was a resident of Milpitas for 60 years. She was a special person to all that knew her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and her weekly outings to Black Bear Diner, Red Lobster, and every Sunday Omega Restaurant. For many years she would get her hair done every Thursday and her mani-pedi at His’n Hers Hair. She was always dressed up and ready to go somewhere. Even if she didn’t have plans to do anything she would always say if something came up she would be ready go. Her most favorite music was listening to Elvis.
