Walter Don Andrews

Walter D. Andrews "Andy" Resident of Ione, California born February 8, 1938 in Pensacola, Florida, passed away August 5, 2010 at his home in Ione, California. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Leila A. Andrews, children Connie Reynolds of Pleasanton, California, , William and Brandie Andrews, Lynn Alves of Tracy, California, Terry Corbel of Livermore, California and Robert Campbell of Dublin, California. Also 12 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren, cousins Dickey Roswell, Johnny Freeman, Frankie Freeman, William Freeman, Jeannie and Sis of Florida. Walt had a long history with the U.S. Navy serving six years in the service on the USS Ticonderoga. He then spent six years in the Navy reserves and continued with 25 years of civil service at the Alameda Naval Air Station. He then moved from Dublin, California to Ione, California where he worked for Wal-Mart for five years until he was diagnosed with cancer on February 8, 2010. Don't let us forget the passions in his life. Number one was his children and grandchildren, but a close second was his love for the Oakland A's and the San Francisco 49ers (depending on the season.) He also followed the Miami Dolphins as his home town team. He loved music, dancing and singing to his kids and grandkids. Visitation is to be held Sunday August 15, 2010 from 3-6pm at Guerrero Mortuary 407 Estudillo Ave. San Leandro, Ca.
