Arlen Dale Estep

Arlen was a man of faith who loved God and his family. During the latter years of his life, he became closer to God. Right before he passed, he opened his eyes and smiled. His nurse at Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center asked him if he was seeing angels. He nodded yes, closed his eyes, and went home to be with God. Arlen received the greatest Christmas gift. He will be celebrating the birth of our Savior WITH our Savior! He loved his family deeply and worked hard to provide for them. In his downtime he enjoyed kayaking with friends and playing pool in the APA Pool League. But what he really enjoyed was doing projects with the grandkids who lived close by. Arlen had a mischievous grin and a sense of humor to go with it. He will be missed beyond measure.

He married Cathy Joan Bristle Estep on October 16th, 1976. They shared 45 wonderful years together. Cathy, along with their children and grandchildren still survive; Three sons: Lee, Travis (married to Babette), and Trevor (married to Jen); Two daughters: Tasha and Kathy. Also surviving are his brothers: Jimmie, Mike, Phillip, and Jerry; and his sisters: Loretta, Teresa, Mary, Janet, and Mitzi.

He was preceded in death by: his parents Lee Estep and Joyce Owens Estep, a son Paul Estep, a granddaughter Cassandra Estep, and a brother Scotty Estep.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care and support they gave to Arlen and his family. They are truly God’s angels on earth. We would also like to thank Orland’s American Legion for all that they do for our veterans in the nursing homes.

Memorials can be given in Arlen Estep’s name to organizations that help support our veterans. This is a cause that was dear to his heart, being a Marine Veteran himself.

Per Arlen’s instructions there will not be a viewing, funeral, burial, or a memorial service.
