Boyd was born on November 11, 1945 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Bitz) Cox.
He formerly lived in Coldwater, Michigan, and later moved and lived many years in Orland, Indiana until his passing.
Boyd enjoyed traveling, hunting and being outdoors. He was known as a likeable person with a sense of humor.
Survivors include a son, Rodney Cox, and two surviving siblings, Geraldine Minniear and Wayne Cox.
Following his wishes there will be no services.
