David Jackson Long

Mr. Long had retired from Dana Corp. in Fort Wayne in August 2001.

He was a 1969 graduate of North Side High School in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Long was a member of Fremont Moose Lodge.

He enjoyed living at Snow Lake, fishing, street rods, Jimmy Buffet and Bob Seger music and his family.

He was born July 17, 1950, in Fort Wayne to Fred and Betty (Writzengruter) Long. He married Cheri Morrison on July 24, 1971, at St. Joseph Methodist Church in Fort Wayne. She survives at Snow Lake.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jennifer and Cory Garman of Pleasant Lake; a son Jared and Jami Long of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Kyle Garman, Taya Garman, Morgan Garman, Jackson Garman and Harper Long; a sister, Sandy Meyers of Fort Wayne; a brother, Kenneth Wayne Long of Syracuse; and his in-laws, Ralph Morrison of Sarasota, Fla., and Mary Morrison of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Piersimoni officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to Cameron Hospice, Angola, or to the Humane Society of Steuben County
