David Alan Sommers

Mr. Sommers had previously worked for Metal Spinners in Angola, Swager Tower in Fremont, Caywood Metal Spinning in Coldwater and McDonald’s at the Indiana Toll Road.

He attended Fremont High School and had lived his entire life in the Fremont and Branch County, Mich., area.

Mr. Sommers enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved his family very much.

He was born February 9, 1952, in Angola, Indiana, to Jerrie L. and Gladys L. (Walter) Sommers. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Fremont, Ind.

His wife, Virginia Sommers, preceded him in death on July 23, 2009.

Surviving are a son, Jerrie Alan Sommers of Angola, Ind.; two daughters, Cissy A. Sommers of Indianapolis, Ind., and Jessica and Jeffrey Gerard of Angola, Ind.; four granddaughters, Leticia, Alleah, Shikira and Esperenza; his mother, Gladys L. Sommers of Fremont, Ind.; six brothers, Tom Sommers of Fremont, Ind., Robert Sommers of Montpelier, Ohio, Gary Sommers of Fremont, Ind., Mark Sommers of Fremont, Ind., Jeff Sommers of Fremont, Ind., and Steve Sommers of Fremont, Ind.; and one sister, Brenda Sommers of Fremont, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his father and one grandchild, Janakia Sommers.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Lakeside Cemetery in Fremont, Indiana, with Pastor Ken Walker officiating.

Memorials are to the donor’s choice.
