

He had formerly resided in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Mr. Stalder retired from Central Soya at Fort Wayne. He also retired as a police officer from the Fort Wayne Police Department in 1968 after 23 years of service.
He was a graduate of Fort Wayne Central High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II where he served as a pharmacy medic in the Pacific Theater and earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Mr. Stalder enjoyed playing golf, bowling, lake activities, traveling to Florida during the winter and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Fremont Moose Lodge, Punta Gorda Elks Lodge, VFW Lodge in Angola, Ind., and was a 33rd Degree Mason.
He was born September 6, 1921, in DeKalb County, Ind., to Henry and May (Boger) Stalder. He married Elizabeth B. Furste on November 10, 1945. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2008.
Surviving are a daughter, Jeanne Bruick of Coldwater Lake, Coldwater.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Loos and Lucille Stalder; and two brothers, Ray Stalder and Harold Stalder.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2011, at Lindenwood Cemetery, Bohn Chapel, Fort Wayne, Ind., with the Rev. Wayne Berkesch officiating. Military committal services will be conducted by members of Fort Wayne American Legion Post # 499.
