Hazel E. Konrad

Hazel E. Konrad, age 96, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Aperion Care of Angola, Angola, Indiana. Hazel was born on September 3, 1922 in Woodville, Ohio to Fred and Susie E. (Wheeler) Winkleman, they preceded her in death. Hazel married Edward Frank Konrad on June 4, 1945 in Ohio, he preceded her in death on October 23, 1976. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Angola, Indiana. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, and baking. Survivors include her children, Carol Ann Blakita, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Mary Sue Blakita, Jackson, Michigan, James Edward Konrad of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Helen Marie Higbee of Fremont, Indiana, Sharon Humbarger of Fremont, Indiana, Irene Catherine Hancock of Fremont, Indiana, Anthony Michael Konrad of Coldwater, Michigan, and Edward Frank Konrad of Angola, Indiana, 20 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. Hazel was also preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Hartshorne, and a brother, Frederick Winkleman. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Friday, December 28, 2018 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with a prayer service at 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 700 West Maumee Street, Angola, Indiana. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana. Memorial donations in her memory are requested to the Heartland Hospice or the Dementia Society of America.
