

Jim, as he was called by friends and family, was born to parents T. Wayne and Ruth Kehoe on May 10, 1934 in Ft Wayne, Indiana. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1952. He went on to study at Purdue University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1957. Following graduation, Jim Served two years in the Untied States Army. He worked for several years with Central Soya, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He then went on to co-found Transport Careers, Inc. in Garrett, Indiana.
Jim spent most of his childhood summers with his family on Clear Lake, Indiana. Along with his wife Peggy, Jim continued this tradition by raising three daughters in a little cottage they purchased in “Marina Bay.” Jim and Peggy enjoyed Sailing and were active members of the Clear Lake Yacht Club. It was here that Jim was named the “King of Ribs” cooking over an open pit for countless friends and family with his world famous “Uncle Jimmy’s Secret Sauce.” Jim and Peggy’s “Rib Parties” were a wild success and not to be missed.
Jim was a soft spoken and gentle soul. He preferred to stay in the “background,” but when he spoke up it was with kindness and humor. Because of this he was appreciated and loved by many. In his final years at The Laurels of DeKalb he was a long time favorite among the many wonderful staff and healthcare workers. His subtle and clever sense of humor will truly be missed by many.
Jim is preceded in death by parents T. Wayne and a Ruth Kehoe of Bluffton; Sister Kathryn Kenworthy of Buchanan, Tennessee; Brother William Kehoe (Sue Kehoe) of Fort Wayne; Wife Peggy of Angola; Daughter Ruth Ann Kehoe of St Petersburg, Florida; and Grandson Christopher Wade of Naples, Florida. He is Survived by Daughters Katie Cure of Waukegan, Illinois and Jennifer Carricarte (Ray Enos) of Angola, Grandsons Joseph Cure of Waukegan, Illinois; and Hunter Carricarte of Chicago, Illinois.
