Larry Fredrick Shelton

He was born on March 4, 1943 in Shannon, Illinois to John F. and Lavon B. (Brandenburg) Shelton.

Larry served his Country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime member of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post # 257.

He was 2nd generation over the road truck driver, and also was a semi mechanic.

Larry was an animal lover, and leaves behind his beloved dog, Maisy. He was always helping others, and was generous with time. A high light was his Sunday morning coffee session with his family, and having long talks with his daughter.

Survivors include his children, John (Kristine) Shelton of Hudson, Indiana, and Susan (Justin) Derrow of Niles, Michigan, grandchildren, Miranda (Tyler) Balbaugh, Nicholas Shelton, Tony (Barbie) Olmstead, and John (Brittany) Bennett, great-grandchildren, Meliah Shelton, Aedan Swary, Rylee Bennett, Warren Olmstead, Aiden Olmstead, and Hensley Bennett, sisters, Connie (John Doyle) Ross, and Audrey (Don) Rinehart, both of Fremont, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lavon Shelton, brothers, Gary and Robert Shelton, and a grandson, Rocky Bennett.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30 pm Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana with Military Honors.
