She was born on September 22, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Troy and Minnie (Hamilton) Winsett.
She was a bartender in Steuben County for many years.
Joyce enjoyed baking, reading, her grandchildren, gardening, and was very caring to her friends, and family, and made the best peanut brittle ever.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra Higginbotham of Forest City, North Carolina, Janice (Jerry) DePew of Ashley, Indiana, Lisa Martin of Angola, Indiana and Jennifer Davis of Angola, Indiana, grandchildren, Jarrod (Tina) Fifer, Matthew Fifer, Zachary (Tyler) Davis and Kyle Davis, great-grandchildren, Casper and Avery Fifer, and Rosie Davis and her companion cat, Luna.
She was also preceded in death by a son, William Leon Privett and a sister, Rosie Winsett.
Visitation will be held from 2 pm until 4 pm Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to Stillwater Hospice or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
