

Boyce J. Slane, 73, of Fremont, died early Sunday morning at Countryside Continuing Care Center. He was born July 10, 1939 in Green Springs the son of Merlin and Juanita (Myers) Slane. He was a 1957 graduate of Green Springs High School and entered the United States Air Force after graduation. He proudly served the USAF for 4 years, primarily being stationed in South Africa. He married Kathleen (Spaziani) Slane on January 21, 1961 in Rome, NY. His first job was at Ann-Lens Furniture Store. He later went on to work for Moore’s Business Forms in Fremont as a supervisor for over 35+ years. He was treasurer at Grace Brethren Church for a number of years. Boyce loved fishing, boating, bowling, baseball, reading, and westerns. He was also a Buckeyes, Browns, and Indians fan, as well. Boyce was very handy and could build or fix just about anything. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Cathrine Slane and Teresa (Jim) Bruggeman, both of Fremont; three brothers; two sisters; grandchildren, Joshua (Angie) Dicker, Katrina Dicker, both of Fremont, James Bruggeman, Jr. of Bowling Green, Jarred Bruggeman of Fremont; great grandchildren, Kayla Clements, Gavin Dicker, Hayden Lagrou, and Tyler Howell, all of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Brenda Slane; grand daughter, Christina Lagrou.
