

Daniel Lee Bowes, 56, of Fremont, died Thursday, August 11, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born October 30, 1959 in Fremont, the son of Leo and Lois (Beith) Bowes. Dan graduated from Fremont Ross High in 1978 and went on to work for almost 30 years as a Tool & Die Machinist at Carbo Forge.
He was a member of Old Fort United Methodist Church and the Eagles. In earlier years, he enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Paul’s Episcopal alongside his dad and brother Tom, carrying on a family tradition passed down from his grandfather, the former choir master. He played church league softball and loved the outdoors. He could be found hunting, fishing and spending time with his Golden Retriever “Ginger”. Dan loved the opportunity to fly with his son Tyler and was always there to provide a little back seat guidance.
Surviving is his son Tyler Bowes of Fremont, OH; wife Christine Farson of Fremont, OH; siblings: Larry (Thelma) Bowes of Caledonia, IL; Sue (Robert) Schick of Perrysburg, OH; Thomas Bowes of Liberty Center, OH; twin sister Jennifer Gottfried of Fremont, OH; step-daughters Jessica Farson of Fremont, OH and Janelle ( Eric) Castilian of Clyde, OH; 4 step-grandchildren; mother-in-law Louise Salyers of Gibsonburg, OH and father-in-law Harold (Deb) Carn of Canton, OH; in-laws Ken and Dorothy Hoerig of Tiffin, OH; Den Hoerig, Diane(Randy) Benner, Doug (Andrea) Hoerig, grandmother Mary Ann Koby; all of Tiffin, OH; 5 nieces; 6 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step- mother Esther Bowes and wife Deb (Hoerig) Bowes on August 19, 2005.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8P.M. at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH. Funeral services will begin at 11:00A.M. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Old Fort United Methodist Church with Pastor Marc Quinter officiating where additional visitation will begin at 10:00A.M. until the time of service. Burial will take place privately at Old Fort Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Old Fort United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Saving “Lulu Belle” DC-3 Fund at Fremont Airport.
