Darlene Wise

Darlene Mae Wise, 81, passed away on January 23, 2012 at Fremont Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 15, 1930, the daughter of Maude and Milton Nau. She was a graduate of Jackson Burgoon school in 1948.

Darlene married Dwight C. Wise, Jr. on March 4, 1951 at the Burgoon United Methodist Church. He survives. Darlene was a homemaker. She worked for a short time at the Herbrand and Bintz's clothing store in Fremont after graduation. She was a member of the Fremont First UCC Church. She belonged to a card club for over 50 years. She was a member of the Harrison Trail Farm Bureau Council and the Fremont Kiwanis Club. She also worked at the Sandusky County Health Department - Homemaker Service. She visited all 50 states with her husband and they drove to Alaska.

Darlene loved to travel. She baked cookies for the staff of her husband at each session of the Ohio General Assembly - 1983-1994.

She is survived by her children Sandy (Dave Reber)Wise of Sarasota, FL, Geary (Diane) Wise of Fremont, and Gail (Tony) Marshall of Findlay; grandchildren, Abby Chin (Mike Schmidt) and Jackie Chin of Seattle,WA, Carolynn (Paul) Arpin of Toronto, Canada, Dan (Julie)Wise of Minneapolis, MN, Andrea Wise of Fremont, Ryan Marshall and Logan Marshall of Findlay. She was preceded in death by Denise Ann, a stillborn child, in 1966; and her parents.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 28 from 10AM-3PM at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral and Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch St, Fremont. Services will follow at 3PM at the funeral home with Pastor Nancy Smith and Rev. Kay Cox officiating.
