

Harry “Dan” Miller, of Fremont, died Friday morning at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born February 27, 1936 in Fremont, the son of William John and Irene M. (Haaser) Miller. Dan was a graduate of St. Joseph High Class of 1954. On May 9, 1959 he married Jean M. Haefling at Tiffin St. Joseph’s Church. He worked alongside his brothers at Miller Brothers Construction and went on to work as a millwright for Ford Motor Company in Sandusky, OH. Dan was soft spoken, a friend to many and an all-around handyman. After retirement he volunteered his time and creative talents as the Building Supervisor for Habitat for Humanity. His contributions earned him a designation in the Senior Hall of Fame awarded by WSOS Senior Programs. He was a member, usher and communion distributor at St. Joseph’s Church. His wife, children and grandchildren were paramount in his life and he always made himself available to lend a hand.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Jean Miller of Fremont, OH; children; Mary Ann (Dusty) Reinhart , Cindy (Dave) Pitchford and Mike (Barb Gillette) Miller all of Fremont and Elaine (Mark) Roynon of Findlay, grandchildren; Daniel, Emily, Kathryn, Dane, Cara, Alisha, Rihana, Lindsey, Allison, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Miller.
Visitation will take place Monday, December 26, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420.
A Mass of Resurrection will take place Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ProMedica Hospice of Memorial Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, or Bishop Hoffman Catholic Schools.
