
Adilene Brown went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 8, 2012, just 15 days short of her 89th birthday, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on April 23, 1923, in Douglas County, Missouri, to Myrtle and Charles Loyd. She met and married the love of her life, Carlyle Brown, and together they moved to Fresno California in 1945. Adilene worked as a seamstress for over 40 years and was a longtime member of The People's Church.
Adilene will be remembered for her great love for her family and her strong faith in the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Adilene is survived by son Carlyle, Jr. and his wife, Clara, of San Diego, daughter Marilyn of Fresno, daughter Linda and her husband Paul of Petaluma, sister Veta of Willow Springs, Missouri, brother Paul of Mountain Grove, Missouri, granddaughter Heather and her husband Robert of Fort Bragg and great granddaughters Amethyst and Ruby. She is predeceased by Carlyle, Sr., her loving husband of 58 years, brothers Esco, Arnold, and Stanley, and sisters Eva and Juanita.
A memorial service will be held in the north lobby chapel of The People's Church on Saturday, April 14, at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the People's Church, Fresno California.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Orchard Park Assisted Living and the staff of Optimal Hospice for the compassion and loving care they showed while Adilene was in their care.
