Alice was born on May 11, 1916 in Fresno, to Mary and Ralph Lombardi and peacefully left us, to be with the Lord and reunited with her husband, the love of her life, Joe Renna, on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.
Our mom grew up in the Little Italy area of West Fresno. She graduated from Edison High School where she ran track, was active in school clubs, held several student body offices and made many lifelong friends.
During WWII, Alice was an original "Rosie the Riveter" at Rohr Airplane Factory. After marrying Joe Renna, she became a bank teller, eventually working at Bank of America where she retired after 30 years. Alice never met a stranger and was definitely a people person. She was widowed at a young age but she persevered, continued to work and raised two young children. Our mom loved traveling and had the opportunity to go to Europe several times, Hawaii, Alaska, on a small ship, throughout California and especially spending time at the condo in Santa Cruz.
Alice was a loving, caring, sweet person - a real lady with a quick wit and a gracious, generous nature. She touched many lives in her 96 years in a positive way. We love you and miss you, mom and will keep you forever in our hearts.
Special thanks go to her wonderful caregivers, Janie, Grace and Connie who made it possible for Alice to continue to live at home during her final illness and to her amazing Hinds Hospice nurses and health aide, Gao, Karen, Kathy and Christie, who gave her such compassionate care.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Renna; her brothers, Floyd and Marvin Lombardi; her sister, brother-in-law and nephew, Mabel, Pete and Russell Cecaci.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Renna; her son, Stuart Renna and his wife Niki; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
