She moved to California as an infant. Her early years were spent living in the desert in a tent city. At the age of 10 the family moved to Powerhouse #8 in Big Creek. She boarded out to attend high school at Sierra Joint Union High School in Auberry. She attended Fresno State College for 2-years where she studied nursing. Before marriage Ann was employed by the Fresno County Hospital as a nurse’s aide.
In 1952 she married Jack Neil Bradford and within 5 years they had 4 beautiful and well-behaved children.
Ann worked for the Southern Baptist Convention as a mailing clerk for its newspaper for 14 years, later working as an admin assistant to the editor for the paper.
When Jack was transferred to San Jose, she worked for the county assessor’s office and church secretary.
After Jack’s retirement they moved to Ahwahnee where they lived for 26 years.
Ann was a servant of the lord and was active in her church, teaching Sunday School, serving as Vacation Bible School Director, and W.M.U. President. She sang in the choir often soloing. Ann was an artist and enjoyed decorating her church for events.
She is survived by her sister June Bonnici of Roseville CA, children Richard Bradford and his wife Minda, of Griffen, Georgia, daughter Rebecca Ray of Fresno, son Scott Bradford and his wife Elaine, of Fresno, Grandchildren Michele Ray and partner Ryan, Katie Ray and partner Jacob, Jared Ray, Shannon Huggins and her husband Steve, Jennifer Click and her husband Craig and great grandchildren, Alexa, Ryan, Charlotte, Owen, Levi, Jacob and Katherine.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jack, her daughter Robin Diane, son in law Jeff Ray, brothers, Ivan and Donald Hallock and many relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at New Heights Church, 6385 N Fresno St, Fresno, CA 93710 at 11:00 am on Saturday June 18th.
