Audrey Linne Diaz

She attended St. Helen's Catholic School; San Joaquin Memorial High School; and was an alumni of California State University, Fresno.

She worked at KMPH, Channel 26, in Fresno as a marketing research assistant. Later, becoming director and producer of the Fox 26 Kids Club where she received many awards. From there, Audrey moved into the marketing department for KMPH. She left Fresno and worked for Fox 5, KVVU, in Las Vegas, NV. She was honored in 2014 by the Nevada Broadcasting Association in their Hall of Fame Gala for her 25 years in the broadcasting industry.

She loved all sports and was a big fan of the Fresno State Bulldogs. She was appointed to establish the official club for the Fresno State Alumni Association in Las Vegas.

Audrey ran many half marathons and was training for triathlon competitions. Unfortunately, a continual knee problem shortened her goal.

In her early high school years, she performed with a local Hawaiian dance group which led to her love of all things Hawaiian. Thus, Hawaii became a favorite destination. Audrey also worked as a dance instructor for Danceworks Unlimited for many years. During her college breaks and summer vacations, she was employed at Disneyland where she worked as various costumed characters.

During her illness, she became very involved with the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Audrey did some fashion shows for them and she also walked in the foundation's marathons with her support group "Team Audrey".

She was a part of the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Academy Class becoming an auxiliary volunteer for the American Red Cross and the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue.

She is survived by her parents, Frank and Delores Diaz; sister, Carrie Goetz and her husband Chris; niece and godchild, Terra Goetz, whom she loved dearly; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Sunday, February 1, 2015, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 4:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John's Cathedral on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Audrey's memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Southern Nevada; or the SPCA of Las Vegas, NV.
