Dan Jensen, 76, of Fresno, California, passed away on January 7, 2026, in Clovis, California with his family by his side. He was born on February 12, 1949, in Fresno, California to Betty and Carl Jensen.
Dan was a graduate of Washington Union High School in Easton, Class of 1967, where he was in student leadership and a member of the marching band. He went on to attend Fresno State University, graduating with a degree in Mathematics, later adding a master’s in education. While at Fresno State, Dan met the love of his life, Marlene Kisling. They were married on August 18, 1973, and shared 52 loving years of marriage.
Dan devoted over 45 years as an educator, including 7 1/2 years at Edison High School and nearly 30 years teaching eighth grade math at Tenaya Middle School. Dan also taught as an adjunct math professor at Fresno City College for over 25 years.
Dan was an avid fan of baseball and a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants. Dan coached high school baseball before going on to coach his boys Jeff and Eric in little league. Dan was also present rooting for all his grandkids and their youth sports teams.
Later in life, Dan enjoyed being an avid world traveler with Marlene.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Marlene, sons Jeff (Jodie) and Eric (Tiffanie), and cherished grandchildren, Thomas, Aubrey, Teagan, and Hunter. He is also survived by his father Carl Jensen and brother John Jensen. He was preceded in death by his mother Betty.
A memorial service for Dan will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:30am at Hope Lutheran Church, located at 5435 N Fresno Street, Fresno, Ca 93710.
