

David was born in Albany, California and resided in Fresno for the last 25 years of his life. He worked various jobs in the dairy industry. David rose from Shift Supervisor, to Plant Manager, to Vice President of Operations, and finally to Chief Operations Officer for California Dairies, Inc.
Raised in Campbell, California, David attended Campbell High School, where he excelled at high jump on the track and field team. His 6’11” jump earned David a 3rd place national ranking, and he was one of the first athletes to use the Fosbury Flop. David was originally a member of the California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo track and field team, but it was basketball that was his true lifelong passion. He was a valuable member of the Cal Poly men’s basketball team. Beyond college and until his passing, David competed in various tournaments across the United States and in countries around the globe, including New Zealand and Australia.
David is survived by his wife, Jeannie, brother, Edward, daughters Kelly, Lauren, and Tracy, nephews James and Patrick, and grandchildren Allyson, Zoey, Randi, Robert, Brooks, Katelyn, and a soon-to-be grandson due in February. He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Corinne, whom he loved, respected, and missed tremendously.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 9, at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home of Fresno. Friends with inquiries may call from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, David would have liked donations to be made to various organizations that he supported and made regular contributions to, including Animal Compassion Team (A.C.T.) located on 2789 South Orange Ave., Fresno, CA 93725 or Precious Animals Worth Saving (P.A.W.S.) located at P.O. Box 601, Fowler, CA.
