

After graduating from University of San Francisco, he married the love of his life, Barbara Cushing and they moved to Georgia where Dave spent the next two years with the United States Army as a Personnel Officer. While in Georgia, they welcomed the first of their four daughters. Upon returning to California, Dave began work at US Steel and completed his MBA from University of California, Berkeley. Dave, Barbara and their four young daughters moved to Fresno in 1964. While still working at US Steel, he taught evenings at Fresno State College and served as Captain in the Army Reserves until 1966. Dave was a Vice President of Sales and Marketing for over 40 years; first, for Duncan Ceramics for 18 years; and then for Allwire Manufacturing.
In retirement, Dave's labor of love was writing a business book entitled, "Start Your Business the Right Way".
Together Dave and Barbara enjoyed traveling and spending time with their beloved family. Nothing made Dave more proud than seeing the accomplishments of his daughters and grandchildren. His loving guidance as a husband, father and grandfather will be forever cherished.
Dave is survived by Barbara, his wife, best friend, and his forever girlfriend of 56 years; daughters, Mary Castro and son-in-law Randal, Maureen Lewis and son-in-law Hal Kissler, Margaret Banuelos and son-in-law Rodger, and Monica Bachman and son-in-law Mark; and grandchildren, Matt and wife Lauryn, Ashley, Brianna, Jamie and husband Justin, Brendan, Kyle, Bridget, Nick, and Drew.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday, December 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to St. Agnes Hospice.
