Born Deanne Marie Mongeon on July 7, 1955 in St Albans Vermont, Deanne passed away peacefully at her home in Coarsegold CA. Deanne was 67 years old when she passed surrounded by her 2 sons, Brandon & Justin and husband of 34 years, Jim on the evening of Thursday February 23rd.
The family wants to give a special thanks to Jill from Coarsegold for her devotion in helping to care for Deanne and family in her last days and final minutes.
Deanne was the last surviving member in her immediate family, the 2nd to oldest child. She had an older brother Rick Mongeon, a younger brother Mike Mongeon and the youngest of the family Maureen Mongeon.
Deanne and her family moved to CA from Vermont when she was a teenager. She graduated from Bonita H.S. in La Verne, CA.
Working in the medical field shortly after high school as an LVN Deanne went on to become a Registered Nurse in her late 20’s which was the profession she earned a living and retired from at age 65. Deanne also became a dedicated Christian in her 40s and earned a Master’s degree in Theology from Talbot/Biola University in La Mirada, CA. Her favorite bible verse was: Romans 8:38-39 - “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Deanne was devoted to her grandchildren, taking them to and from school on a weekly basis along with annual vacations. In her free time, she spent every possible minute enjoying the outdoors hiking and backpacking. Retired from Loma Linda Dialysis Center in 2020 she moved to Coarsegold CA to be close to her favorite place, Yosemite. Soon after she was diagnosed with Bulbar ALS July 2022, which had a rapid progression on her health.
Deanne is survived by her husband James Champany, children, Brandon and Kristin Murray of CA, Justin and Melissa Murray of McKinney, TX, Johanna Champany of Sallisaw, OK. Her grandchildren Sterling Murray, Stone Murray, Trent Murray, Devan Murray, Tatum Murray, Paulix Acevez and Summer Knickerbocker.
A celebration of life for Deanne will be held Saturday March 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, California 93720.
