Deborah Marie Cura

Deborah is survived by her husband of 37 years, Felix Cura; Her beloved Daughters and Son In Laws; Renee and Daniel Aguilar and their son, Deborah’s cherished Grandson Logan Michael Aguilar. Rebecca Becerra and Jose Becerra and their children, Deborah’s beautiful granddaughter’s Jillana Mia Becerra and Julissa Emma-Beth Becerra; her brother Art Riesgo, her brother Michael Vaquera and his wife Macerena. Her sister Yolanda Waters, and many nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Louis and Emma Vaquera and Sister Arlene Jaksich.

Deborah was born to parents Louis and Emma Vaquera on January 28, 1958 in Fresno California. She was raised on dairy farms and would run and play with her siblings on the farms and at home. Deborah graduated from Kingsburg High School in 1976, and then attended California State University of Fresno. She married the love of her life, Felix on October 4, 1984. Deborah worked for the county of Fresno for many years, and then decided to care for her mother Emma. They both loved to cook and bake. Both would laugh and enjoy each other’s company throughout the years. Deborah loved music, especially Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. Her girls remember singing with their Mama until they would all fall asleep late at night. Even during her illness, Deborah would sing and clap with her beloved grandchildren. She was a woman of incredible strength and an abundance of love, we all are better for having her in our lives. She will be deeply missed.

A visitation for Deborah will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720 followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1275 Smith St., Kingsburg, CA 93631.
