Dennis Russell Albrecht, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at the age of 86 on April 25, 2026. Dennis was born on August 5, 1939, in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Due to his father’s work, the family relocated several times during Dennis’ school years, living in Seattle, Portland, Altadena, and Pasadena, California. Dennis completed his senior year at Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, California.
Dennis attended College of San Mateo, where he earned his Associate degree. He then proudly served six months of active duty in the United States Marine Corps, followed by six years in the reserves. Continuing his education, Dennis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Marketing from California State University, East Bay.
Dennis met Patty Parigan through mutual friends, and the two were married in August of 1969. Together they built a life centered around family, faith, hard work, and love. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Kadie and Betsy. Dennis was a proud and devoted grandfather to Evan, Kadie’s son, and to William, Ava, and Vera, Betsy’s children, each of whom brought him tremendous joy and pride.
Dennis is also survived by his siblings, Carla Fetveit, Paul Albrecht, and John Albrecht.
Dennis spent 30 successful years with Houghton Mifflin Publishing Company in Palo Alto, California, where he worked as a sales representative and eventually became Vice President and Western Regional Manager. Retirement lasted only a year before Dennis joined his father-in-law in the auto parts and auto service business, where he continued working for more than three additional decades.
Dennis and Patty made their home in Fresno, a community he deeply cared about, while also spending cherished time in Carmel, where they created many treasured memories throughout their marriage. They created many treasured memories there with family and friends. Hawaii was another place Dennis dearly loved. Beginning with his honeymoon there with Patty and continuing to be one of his favorite places to visit and relax.
Dennis found joy in traveling and venturing into new places. Over the years, he and Patty explored much of the United States and journeyed throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and one of their favorite adventures, a safari in Africa.
They especially enjoyed traveling together on river cruises. Always embracing the opportunity to experience new places, cultures, and lifelong memories side by side.
Family, faith, work, and golf were the cornerstones of Dennis’ life. He deeply loved his wife Patty and adored his daughters, Kadie and Betsy. He was immensely proud of his grandchildren and took special joy in watching Will and Evan’s athletic accomplishments, especially because of his own lifelong love of golf and the baseball he played in his youth. He also deeply cherished attending Ava and Vera’s events and milestones, always showing up with pride, support, and excitement for the moments that mattered most to them.
Dennis faced Parkinson’s disease in the later years of his life with strength, resilience, and grace. Even through the challenges, his love for his family, his sense of humor, and his steady presence never wavered.
Dennis will be remembered for his devotion to family, quiet strength, enduring faith, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.
