Diane Gayle Kinney was born in Tehachapi, CA on May 22, 1944 to Ernest L. and Mary (Halverson) Kinney. Diane went to her place in heaven on July 14, 2022. She was 78 years old. Diane was a miracle survivor of lung cancer contracted in 2002.
Diane grew up in Cantua Creek where her dad was a teacher and later Principal of Cantua Elementary School. While at Cantua Elementary School she participated in Junior Olympics Track and was a cheer leader. She attended Tranquility High School, was active in school events, and married her high school sweetheart Robert Hanneman. They were married 10 years and had two beautiful daughters, Shelley Verwey and Shera Scott (David).
Diane worked many years in the Agribusiness industry and Construction business as a bookkeeper.
Diane is survived by her daughters’ families including grandchildren Brent Verwey, and Kenna Scott. She is also survived by her siblings Ron Kinney (Marlene) and Rick Kinney (Robin), and nieces Dyia Kinney Kwalwasser, Amanda Kinney, and nephews, Aric Kinney and Joshua Kinney and their families, also her Aunt, Sue Kinney Flanagan, and cousins Kim and Kathy Halverson, and many friends.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends. Funeral Home is Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns and Blair.
