Dominic was a graduate of Fresno Technical High School, then went on to proudly serve his country as a United States Marine in the Korean Conflict. After coming back to the states, while still in the service, he was sent to Yucca Flat, NV where he was part of Operation Tambler Snapper for Nuclear bomb testing. He was honorably discharged as Sargeant bearing several medals, two of which were Purple Hearts.
He liked lifting weights and at age 65, won first place in the strict curl competition lifting 200 pounds. He was also an avid golfer scoring two hole in ones in the days he played.
Dominic started his own business which he called Dan's candy and tobacco and was known by many as "Dan the candy man".
Dominic also wrote poetry which he started to write at the age of nine, the first being to his mother, until about a year ago before his passing. It was something he took great pride in as he did in being a husband, a father, a brother and a friend.
He was preceded in death by Elsie, his wife of 52 years.
He is survived by his son, Daniel Dipierri of Fresno, CA; his god- daughter, Jane Hostetler of Fresno, CA; his sisters, Colleen Del Carlo of Soquel, CA, and Donna Twitchell of Lynden, WA; as well as his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many many friends. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
