Donald Wesley Boyd Sr.

His parents were Henry Wesley Boyd and Anna Belle Richardson. Donald was raised in Oklahoma and California. Donald had seven siblings. Lucille, Dru, Horace, Raymond, RV, Otis and Virginia.

He met the love of his life, Mildred Napier, they were married in Dec 1948.

Donald and Mildred were blessed with three children, two daughters, Linda Fairchild and Donna Boyd , and one son, Donald Boyd Jr. They were also blessed with nine grandchildren, Donald Boyd III, Dennis Nale Jr, Troy Fairchild, Stephanye Bowlan, Ryan Nale, Michele Pacheco, Jason Nale, Valerie Boyd, Melissa Hocker. Donald also leaves twenty two great grandchildren.

. His primary occupation was Cotton Gin Manager. He was employed for various companies in California and Australia throughout his career.

Donald was a Navy Veteran. He served in the Pacific Theater. Donald served in Okinawa at the end of World War II. He was a cook for Military Officers in the SeaBees. He often shared stories of his military days.

His favorite hobbies were Billiard's, Fishing, and he was an avid Golfer. Donald was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed watching his favorite events whenever he got the opportunity. Golf, Football and College Basketball. And he could be found at the track when the horse racing was in town.

He found pleasure camping and fishing with his family after his retirement. Some of his favorite fishing spots were at Bull Run and Chiquita Creek in the Sierras.

Donald was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of Donald’s favorites was Harlee, his Pit Bull, they were best friends for 7 years.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents , Henry and Anna Belle, his beloved wife Mildred,

brothers and sisters and two grandsons, Donald Boyd III and Dennis Nale Jr.

A Celebration of Donald's life will be held at Tinkler Funeral Chapel & Crematory. 475 North Broadway Ave. Fresno, Ca. on March 24, 2017 at 11:00 am.
