

Donald G. Kitterman, cherished Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Great Great Grandfather and Uncle went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2017 at the age of 97. He was born in Kerby, Oregon on October 8, 1919.
Donald proudly served in the USAA during WWII and his unit; the 547th flew cover in their P61 Blackwidow Nightfighers for the Rangers to rescue the POW's at Cabanatuan, Philippines - the only successful rescue of POW's since the Civil War. After the war, he became a general contractor building many homes in the Fresno area retiring at 53 to go back to where he grew up in Northern California. He spent the next 40 years hunting, fishing, trapping, entertaining grandchildren and enjoying life.
Donald's loving family and survivors include daughter, Ralpha Whipple and her husband Don, son Jan (Skeet) and his wife Marla, son James and his wife Debra, son-in-law, Russell Smith and sister Jeanie Campbell. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irma and his daughter Krisstan Smith.
Viewing will be on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Stephens and Bean Funeral Home from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Canyon Community Church, 18291 Antler School Rd. in Lakehead, CA on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2017 at Laurel Cemetery in Cave Junction, OR at 12:00 p.m.
