So sorry to see of Edna's passing.  Back in the early 1980's, she had come to me (as a real estate agent) to look at some houses for relatives that had just moved to the Fresno Area.  She was an "Auntie" to all that came to settle in the area.  She was a beacon of light and love and always ready to help them get settled, and she became quite adept at finding them homes in good areas of town to rent or buy.  She came to my mind yesterday, and when I looked her up on the internet, I was sad to see that the opportunity had passed to reconnect.  Prayers for all of you in her family, I am sure she is greatly missed.


In 1981, upon arriving to Fresno, CA from the Philippines, auntie Edna helped me get my first job with a company that she works with - (Farquhar & Smith ). I didn’t know how to drive at that time but she taught me how to ride the bus. She picked me up from home, dropped me at the bus stop, and followed the bus  in her cream colored Oldsmobile, until I got to my destination. She did this a couple of times until I felt comfortable on my own.  Upon obtaining a driver’s license, Auntie Edna helped finance a car that me and my siblings could use to go around town. This is just one of the many acts of generosity and kindness that auntie Edna has done for our family. Memories of her will remain in my heart. 

When Uncle Wagner passed away, Caroline Clapp gave me a letter that she found at their home. This letter was written to them by my grandfather Juan Mana-a Domingo. I thought I’d share the letter as it is a testament of their generosity to our family, and it also provides our lineage.

Auntie Edna not only had a big heart but also so much love for all that had the privilege to know her.  She was an inspiration to many and was always there to lend a helping hand.  Her smile was contagious. She will always remain in my heart and will be missed.  

I was 12 years old when I attended Auntie Edna and Uncle Wagner’s wedding and I always thought they were the coolest Auntie and Uncle. It was only fitting that we asked them to be in our wedding. Auntie Edna always had an enthusiastic appreciation for life and she and Uncle were such a loving couple. Rest In Peace Dearest Auntie Edna with Uncle Wagner in heaven ❤️

One of many fond memories that I have of my Auntie Edna is the way she referred to my Uncle Wagner.  It wasn't honey . . . or dear. . . like most married couples here in the states but rather LOVE.  When I lived with them when I first came to Fresno, I heard it many, many times.  My Auntie Edna was LOVE also.  She was generous and kind to many people. I will miss her immensely but I know she is in heaven with my uncle.
