Eleanor was born in Midland, Michigan where she grew up on her family’s farm and carried that love for the outdoors and physical activity throughout her life. After completing her schooling, she began working at Dow Chemical in Midland, where she met her future husband, Joseph Jameson “Clem”. They married and began building a life together that took them west—first to Oregon, then for many years to the San Francisco Bay Area—before ultimately settling in Fresno 50 years ago. Eleanor treasured the years spent raising her family and was known for the happiness and joy she brought to those around her. An avid tennis player, she stayed on the court into her 80s, inspiring family and friends with her energy and determination.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Clem Jameson, her parents Asa and Alice Carrigan, and her sisters Irene Huber and Aletha Card. She is survived by her daughter Kim Lipinski of Fresno, her son Mark Jameson (Sue) of South Lake Tahoe, her son Michael Jameson (Catherine) of Fresno, and her daughter Lisa Jameson of Fresno. Eleanor’s seven grandchildren - Russell Havens (Worthy), Ryan Lipinski, Sean Lipinski (Heather), Eric Jameson (Gwen), Hunter Jameson (Rebecca), Chandler Jameson, and Bailey Richy (Paul) - and six great grandchildren – Chloe, Holland, Maddox, Mackenzie, Annabelle, and Parker - brought her immense pride and joy. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Maxwell (William), Gerry Bailer, and Carol Marsh (Robert); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Those wishing to honor Eleanor’s memory may consider a tribute to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society—organizations whose work is especially meaningful to our family.
In keeping with Eleanor’s wishes, she will be cremated and a small remembrance gathering will be held later. It was Eleanor and Clem’s desire to have their ashes spread together at Lake Tahoe, a place that holds many cherished family memories.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.whitehurstsullivan.com for the Jameson family.
