I found out about her passing yesterday and if I had know sooner, I would have attended and given my sincerest condolences in person.  I knew the entire family growing up and I have many fond memories. The family knows me by Joanne Ortiz.

I still remember going to their home on North Yosemite to pick up John in the early 1960’s.John and I attended  junior high and High school together 
As we were leaving  their home Mrs Castro would say
Now don’t get in trouble.
I haven’t seen Mrs Castro in years but I remember her beautiful smile and always pleasant.
Memories last a life time
