Enella Euphemie Sindlinger

Enella E. Sindlinger passed away peacefully in Fresno, California, on February 9, 2023, at the age of 90 years old. She was born on July 1, 1932, in Abbeville, Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. She was the youngest daughter of Fernand Sonnier and Enella Montet Sonnier, and sister to Mitzi Sonnier Doucet. Her mother died after childbirth and she was lovingly adopted by her great aunt and uncle, Leontine, and Philip LeBlanc.

Enella went to school at Indian Bayou High School and graduated in 1950. After graduation, she went to nurses training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, specializing in pediatrics. In 1953, she married Edward B. Sindlinger and they had five children. She took time off from nursing to raise her children. In the early 1970’s, she returned to nursing practice and specialized in geriatrics. She enjoyed writing letters, reading, cooking, decorating at Christmas, and gift giving for holidays and birthdays.

She is survived by five children--Phillip, Jo, Albert, Chris, and Gigi; three grandchildren--Kristyn, Eric, and Max; and five great-grandchildren--Tyler, Claire, Bowen, Elena, and John; and seven nieces & nephews--Jeannette, Anna, Edward, Geralyn, Mary, Maria, and Ned. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. She will be greatly missed by her family.

A Recitation of the Holy Rosary Service for Enella will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 At 9:30 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 355 E Champlain Dr, Fresno, CA 93730, followed by a Funeral Mass Service at 10:00 AM.
