

Ernest grew up in Fresno, and attended Fresno Tech High School. He left to join the U.S. Air Force which started his fascination with airplanes. After his service, he moved to Huntington Beach where he was the owner of several liquor stores. Upon retirement he moved to Seal Beach. During those years he traveled extensively to many European countries and across America, especially eager to visit his grandchildren in Tennessee. He recently moved back to Fresno.
He fascinated many with his knowledge of historical events and was culturally astute. His love of music and taking pictures was something he shared with everyone he met.
He is survived by his son, Ernest Kavoian; and his two children, Nicholas and Alexandra; his son, Peter Kavoian; sisters, Margaret Josephine and Dorothy Arakelian; niece, Joy Arakelian; and nephew, Eddie Arakelian and his wife Lynn, and their children Taylor and Austin.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home, on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment at Masis Ararat Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may by made to Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 2226 Ventura Avenue, Fresno, Ca 93721.
