Esther was preceded in death by her husband Howard Chapin; her stepdaughter Madaline Kay Jacklin; her father Fred Horst and her mother Caroline Horst; her brother Fred Horst; her sister Clara Musfelt; her brother Gus Horst; her sister Matilda Wegner; her sister Emma McCooe; her sister Elsa Gutierrez; her sister Lydia Hahn; her brother Emil Horst; her brother Paul Horst and her brother Martin Horst.
