Flora was one of a kind and was a true matriarch to her entire family. She had so many endearing qualities and traits and was a role model for her family. She was hard working, confident, devoted, progressive woman of great faith. She was always passionate about her work. Her work and life experiences were vast from owning and operating Flora's Department Store in Kerman for 25 years, pumping gas during the war at her brother Reno's Garage, making sandwiches at Manukian's Deli, to volunteering at Valley Medical Center.
As she cut back on work, she continued to remain active and passionate with her family, travels and friends. Family was always a priority and she took such an active role in the lives of her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was outspoken and offered sincere and frank advice to her family. Flora also took pride in working at the Farmer's Market alongside her daughter, Donna, and learning and playing bridge in her later years.
She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. We are at peace knowing that she is with our Heavenly Father. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2nd Timothy 4:7-8.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Agnes Hospice and the Nazareth House for their wonderful care.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Dominic; her sister, Stella Mayo; and three brothers, Reno Coletti, Elmo Coletti and Roy Hughes.
Flora is survived by her two devoted daughters, Donna Shebelut, Vivian McGuinness and her husband William. She was also a beloved grandmother to Elise Krause and her husband Randy, Lance Shebelut and his wife Shannon, Kelli Arbuckle and her husband Bill, and Brady McGuinness and his wife Stefanie; and ten great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Monday, March 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.
Remembrances may be sent to the Nazareth House, 2121 N. First St., Fresno, Ca 93703, where Flora spent her final years.
