

At the persuasion of her brother Ralph, she moved from Marshfield to Fresno in her early twenties. During that time of her life, she was an avid bowler and met her husband to be, Delbert Dixon, at a bowling alley. They married in 1953. Florence was a bookkeeper during her working years. Flo and Del enjoyed many trips to Europe and Hawaii in their retirement.
She enjoyed knitting, cross stitch and needlepoint and also visits with her neighbors, and sister-in-law Cecilia, and her niece Anne. She was a very kind and sweet lady who always had a big smile at the sight of her grandkids, family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Delbert; brothers John, Eugene, Ervin, and Ralph; and sister-in-law Cecilia.
Florence is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Dixon and John Lauri of Fresno; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Gina Dixon of Clovis; her granddaughters Marisol and Lisseth; her grandsons, Garrett and Chase; her sister, Clarice Van Schoyck of Madison, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
Her caregiver and devoted companion was her husband Del, who unconditionally tended to her daily with care, compassion, and patient conversation until his passing in 2011. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center - Hy-Lond, for their care and support.
A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at 1:00 p.m.
Remembrances may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
