George Goro Nii

Born on December 2, 1934, George grew up in Dinuba, Ca. after spending part of his childhood in the Poston III Internment Camp in Arizona. He attended Dinuba Union High School, College of the Sequoias, and University of California, Berkeley, before earning his pharmacy and dental degrees at University of California, San Francisco. George served in the United States Army Reserves, and he practiced pharmacy and dentistry for 35 years.

George enjoyed traveling with his wife Doris; spending time with family, especially his eight grandchildren; golfing with his buddies; following his favorite San Francisco teams; and tending to his garden.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Goichi and Yuzuko Nii; and brothers, Harry Nii and Kazuo Nii.

He is survived by Doris, his wife of 55 years; children, Tammy Kawakami and husband Mark, Marna Kizior and husband Mark, Kevin Nii and wife Karen, David Nii and wife Sabrina; grandchildren, Emily and Megan Kawakami, Ryan and Erik Kizior, Hannah and Alex Nii, Jenna and Katelyn Nii; brothers, Frank Nii and wife Bonnie, Ted Nii and wife Mary; sister, Akiko Hamlin and husband Barry; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Fresno Dharma Center, 2690 E. Alluvial, Fresno, Ca. 93720, on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 10:00 am.
