Geraldine Marie Ruiz

Geraldine was born on January 10, 1948 to Jerry and Mary Brown. During her childhood, Geraldine lived in Pinedale, California with many cousins, aunts and uncles whom she loved dearly. In August of 1963, Geraldine and her family moved to Fresno, California where she attended and graduated from Central Union High School. Geraldine later attended Fresno City College where she met her future husband, Rudy Ruiz.

Geraldine appreciated life, her family, and friends, and especially her Lord Jesus Christ. Geraldine was one of the most humble, generous, and compassionate Christians. Geraldine poured her love into everyone she met. A devout Christian, Geraldine regularly shared her faith with everyone she encountered. She treated all with the upmost dignity, respect, and love. She was also a member of the St. Mary's Guadalapana Society for many years.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Rudy Ruiz, her parents Jerry and Mary Brown, and her brothers Carl and Patrick. She is survived by her sister Sharon Evans, her brother Randy and his wife Espy Brown, as well as nieces and a nephew.

We would like to express our immense gratitude to Lenity Hospice Staff and Chaplin Ben for their loving and thoughtful care shown to our sister. In addition, we are incredibly appreciative of Marina and her staff at Aspiring Care Facility for all of the comfort and care they provided to Geraldine. Finally, we would like to acknowledge Yolanda Castigador, her husband Ron, and the wonderful staff at Hand in Hand Care Home for their many years of compassion, love, and friendship shared with Geraldine. During her final days, Geraldine spoke fondly of staff member Cita as well as many of her friends at Hand in Hand.

While Geraldine faced many challenges throughout her life; she always met them with her faith in God, humility and a loving heart. Geraldine will be remembered for her unwavering love and commitment to her Lord Jesus Christ. While we will miss you immensely, we look forward to being together again one day in Christ.

A visitation will be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, located at 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720, on October 13, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Nativity Chapel, 264 N Blythe Ave, Fresno, CA 93706, on October 14, 2025, at 10:00 am.
