Morgan worked for Grainger Industrial Supply just shy of 44 years at this retirement January 1, 2018. In 2007 he earned an award for $6 billion in sales, “For the ones who get it done”.
On 2/4/99 Morgan and Sue decided to do something special at lunch time. They got married! The wedding was held at the Fresno County Clerk Chapel with the song “Going to the Chapel” playing. After taking pictures in the Manchester Mall photo booth, they enjoyed lunch at the food court.
When Morgan found something he loved, he loved it with his whole being. Whether it was family, friends or sports he gave it everything he had. He loved baseball/softball, golfing, bowling, fishing and riding motorcycles. He held the title for the largest fish caught in Clear Lake for the year 1991. On his 50th birthday he pitched a winning game to take first place in the ASA, MFPC 2004 National Championship in Hastings Nebraska. This was to be his final softball game and as he walked away, he left his cleats on the mound.
As a member of the “no matter what club” Morgan celebrated 30 years on 2/9/25. He was a long-standing home group member of the Thursday night Rule 62 group as a friend of Bill W and Dr. Bob.
Morgan was preceded in death by his parents Verner and Freida Chapman and his brother Vernon Chapman.
Morgan is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susan Chapman, his daughter Jessica Chapman, her mother, Debbie Locklear, his sister Colleen Ellison and several nieces and nephews.
He may be gone but he will never be forgotten. He will always be in our hearts.
