

He spent his formative years in Caruthers. He farmed with his family after returning from internment camps in Jerome, Arkansas, and Tule Lake, California. Henry also worked as a welder at Independent Metal for a number of years before retiring, and started farming full-time again. He was a seasoned farmer for a total of 67 years. He continued to use his welding skills, to design and build a multitude of farm equipment, to be used on the family farm.
Henry found great pleasure and satisfaction in farming the family land, but also enjoyed traveling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tatsuzo and Sen, and infant sister and young brother, Chie and Yoneichi.
Henry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kazuko, his daughter, Carol, and son-in-law Michael (Palazzolo) and their children Kevin, Annelise, Olivia, and Juliette; his son, Henry, Jr, and daughter-in-law, June; sisters Chiyoko and Grace; brother Harry Mayeda; three nephews and a niece, and other extended family both in the United States and Japan.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Lisle Funeral Home, on Friday, March 30, 2012, at 11:00 am.
