Ileen May Holland was born on May 8, 1928 to Margaret and Casper Hearst and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 19, 2016. She now joins her husband Larry who predeceased her in 2012. They are lovingly together again.
Although Ileen had several jobs in her life, including 10 years with the USDA, her most important jobs were wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ileen, better known as grandma or grammy, was happiest being around her extended family. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, sewing, gardening and traveling with Larry.
Ileen was previously active in the Fresno Floaters Winnebago Club and became an honorary member in 2012 after Larry’s passing. They were fortunate to have been able to travel around the U.S. in their motorhome for many years and we will all treasure the memories of fishing stories from Oregon, visiting the Grand Ole Opry, the Grand Canyon, Alaska, Lake Tahoe, and so many more places too lengthy to list.
She is preceded in death by her mother Margaret Hearst and her father Casper Hearst.
She leaves behind her three children, Walter Nan and his wife Sally, Carol Pimentel and her husband Art, Gail Pohan Hansard and her husband Wade, her sister Dorothy Lucchesi and her husband Joe and sister in law Lou Ann Mathews along with 6 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
Remembrances may be made to the Disabled Veterans Charities, 701 Van Ness Ave., Fresno CA 93721.
Arrangements under the direction of Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel, Fresno, CA.
