

She was born in Modesto, California on December 31, 1932 to the late Dow and Loow See Gong. When Jane was young, the family moved to Visalia. Jane attended high school and College of the Sequoias while working as a waitress. In 1959, Jane, with her brothers and brother-in-law, went into the grocery business. They started the Gong's Market on Fresno and Ashlan and expanded to two other shopping centers. Jane enjoyed working as the head cashier, retiring after 30 years.
On March 24, 1962, Jane married the love of her life, Louis Young. They had backyard BBQ and swim parties several times a year, inviting all family and friends. She enjoyed playing Mah Jong, card games, knitting afghans, raising orchids, and spoiling her grandchildren. She served a number of terms as the President of the Fay Wah Auxiliary Club.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, her father and mother, and her brother, Bob and his wife Gong.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Lana Young; son, Stanford Young; and daughter, Marlene and her husband Marc Davis; grandchildren, Colden and Jaden Davis; brothers, Sing and his wife Carol Gong, Frank and his wife Betty Gong, and Tom and his wife Eva Gong; sister, May and her husband, Keith Chun; and her many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 followed by a wake at 5:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will take place at the First Chinese Baptist Church, on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.
