Janeth May McLeod

Janeth was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica in March 1955. She graduated from Bethlehem Teachers College at the age of 21 years old and would spend the next 15 years as an educator in Jamaica, teaching and mentoring many students. After migrating to Toronto, Canada, Janeth would return to college, where she earned her degree in nursing and start her new profession as a Registered Nurse. In 1999, Janeth would migrate to Fresno, CA where she would spend the next 24 years at St. Agnes Medical Center as a Registered Nurse.

Janeth was a kind, generous, and loving mother, grandmother, friend, mentor, and dog mom. She was certainly a force to be reckoned with, and will be deeply missed by many. She was very goal oriented and she would excel at any goal she put her mind to. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and going on frequent road trips with her family. One of her greatest passions was spending time with her grandchildren, she loved attending dance recitals, swim meets, volleyball games, and gymnastics competitions, and, as avid animal lover, she enjoyed visiting the zoo and aquariums.

Janeth is survived by her children Joel and Mawusi (Renee), and grandchildren Anastasia, Thomari, and Marley. She will also be tremendously missed by her 4 dogs, Reagan, Nicki, Blackie, and Carl.

A memorial service for Janeth will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, California 93720.
