Jean Claire Johnson

Jean grew up in Hughson, Ca. and graduated from Hughson High School. She then went to Highland School of Nursing in Oakland. When she received her R.N., she began working at Children’s Hospital also in Oakland while married to Paul Erickson and had two sons. After marrying Howard, they moved to Fresno where she was an active member of the Fresno Evangelical Free Church and was a Teaching Leader in Bible Study Fellowship for many years as well as starting the evening BSF class.

The family would like to thank the staff at Caring Hearts, Bristol Hospice and Linda Vitucci for her tender loving care.

Jean will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith and love for the Lord was evident in everything she did. She was her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader, whether it was listening to them play instruments or watching them play sports. She will be dearly missed, and forever be in our hearts.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Erickson (married 1952-1955), second husband, Howard Johnson (married 1956-2007); her parents; two brothers, Robert and Michael.

Jean is survived by her sons, Tom Erickson and his wife Lanet, and Paul Erickson; daughters, Bev Johnson, Sue Lund and her husband Bryce, Katie Borman and her husband Scott; grandchildren, Wesley Erickson (Lindsey), Heather Trahan (Steven), David Lunde (Jamie), Joshua Lund (Sierra), Tyler Borman, Ryan Borman (Mattie), Kyndel Borman; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ann Styles, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Graveside Service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.

A Celebration of Life Service for Jean Johnson will be held at New Covenant Community Church on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
