A lifelong resident of Fresno, Jean was born to Jean Sr. and Gabriel Lamoure, French immigrants,
on Fresno's Westside.
In high school he met the love of his life, Beverly Bradshaw, and excelled in football as well as track and field.
Upon graduation he earned a football scholarship to Stanford. He returned to Fresno State College to play for James "Rabbit" Bradshaw, his future father-in-law.
After graduation, he turned down an offer to play pro ball for the 49ers to run the family dry cleaning business, Lamoure's Cleaners, which he actively headed until its closing in 2010. The "Two for One" Jingle and the dancing clothes are still remembered by many valley residents.
Always a fit and active man, Jean loved to jog, skeet shoot, swim, fish, and above all, hunt ducks.
Jean was predeceased by Beverly, his wife of 69 years; and his sons, Peter and Eugene.
He will be lovingly missed by daughter, Susanne Clarke and her husband Brad; son, Joe Lamoure and his wife Debra, all of Fresno; daughter, Janine Blaesser and her husband Mike of Santa Cruz; grandsons, Josh Clarke and his wife Dana, Ben Clarke, Elliott Clarke, Louis Lamoure, Drew Lamoure and his wife Lorraine, and Jacques Lamoure, all of Fresno, Adam Blaesser and his wife Whitney of Huntington Beach, Nat Blaesser of Folsom; granddaughter, Katie Blaesser of Seattle; and three great grandsons, Wyatt and Preston Clarke and Troy Blaesser.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church in Fresno
on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 10:00 a.m.
The family requests remembrances be made to Saint Agnes Hospice.
