

Jim was born March 6, 1939, in Council Grove, Kansas to I.L. and Reva Faye (Jones) Galloway. The family moved to Carroll and later Sac City, Iowa where the family operated the Wigwam Bakery in Sac City. As a boy, he enjoyed fishing along the Raccoon River and riding horses. As a young man Jim enjoyed spending time with friends. He also worked alongside his family in the bakery. He graduated from Sac City High School in 1957. After high school he went into the Army Reserves and worked at Sac City Water Plant.
In 1962, while out dancing, he met Teresa which brought him to California. In 1964, Jim and Teresa were married in Blythe, Ca. They subsequently moved to Fresno, Ca. in 1966 where he continued his education at Fresno City College and graduated from Fresno State in 1970. That fall he started teaching at Chowchilla Elementary School District. He thoroughly enjoyed teaching the children, working with the staff and feeling part of the community. He enjoyed volunteering with the Boy Scouts and Fresno High Band boosters during the time his children were in high school. He retired from teaching in 2000. After which he and Teresa enjoyed traveling, fishing, reading, attending Fresno State athletic events and visiting with family and friends.
During their 52 years of marriage, they were blessed with two children, James and Ann. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Irwin, Bill, Richard and Don and two sisters, Reva and Florence. He is survived by his wife Teresa, son James and daughter Ann both of Minneapolis, MN., as well as many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, many special nieces and nephews.
