

John Camoroda passed away on March 13, 2012 just shy of his 99th birthday. John was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 18, 1913 to Joseph and Rose Camoroda. John was the sixth member of a family of four brothers and five sisters. John attended Edison High School and graduated from 4 C's Business College with a Certificate in Accounting.
During World War II John was a member of the 1086 Signal Corps attached to an Air Service Group. This group was in the CBI Theater of Operations with headquarters at Tezgoan, a small town near Dacca, India. He was there for 30 months. Their mission was to maintain and supply the Air Force in keeping airplanes in good flying condition to ferry supplies over the "Hump" to China. John was a Master Sergeant in charge of 32 technicians.
After hostilities ended he returned to Peerless Pump, FMC Corporation and remained there until he retired in 1980. He had various positions at Peerless and was the Administrative Manager when he retired after 45 years.
John was an avid lover of golf. He was a member of a foursome that played together for 30 years. He loved all sports and attended many Major League Baseball games including the Giants and the Dodgers.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and later became a member of The Shrine of St. Therese Parish. He moved to the Nazareth House in 1999 where he remained until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Tony Camoroda, Al Camoroda and Pat Camaroda; his sisters, Elizabeth Telesco, Rose Marino, Mary Gatti, Grace Fini and Josephine Fike.
John is survived by many nieces and nephews that he adored. He was a very caring and generous brother and uncle and he will be greatly missed by all.
