JOHN WESLEY MACLI-ING DIAZ

July 27, 1967 – June 17, 2020

John Wesley was born in Baguio City on July 27, 1967 to Expedito Dequila Diaz (deceased) of Dumangas, Iloilo and Teresita Macli-ing Diaz of Natonin, Mt. Province. Fondly called “Sakid” (his Igorot name) by his family, he attended Maryknoll Convent School (Marishan) for his primary education and graduated from Don Bosco High School in Baguio City. He majored in Mechanical Engineering at St. Louis University. In 1987, he was recruited by Philippine Airlines and became a Domestic Flight Steward until completion of his upgrading class in 1990 (graduated as Class Salutatorian), and became an International Flight Steward. His commitment, professionalism and dedication to his work earned him numerous awards and recognition. He worked for Philippine Airlines for 25 years.

John Wesley and his family moved to California, USA in 2012, and settled in Fresno where he was an active member of the Praise and Worship Band at First Street Church.

A fun-loving and kind-hearted individual, he loved to sing in almost every occasion or wherever he may be. Often referred to as the “life of the party” by his family and friends, he possessed a knack for making everyone enjoy the moment and feel comfortable. A loving and doting husband and father, his children were his pride and joy. John Wesley will always be a beloved and cherished son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

He joined his Creator on June 17, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Nimfa, and four children: Wesley, Leslie Anne, Johana Mae, and John David; his mother, Teresita, sisters: Cynthia, Leiden, Elizabeth, Janette, and brother, Abraham.

“Fly high,” our favorite Flight Steward!
