John Gerald Nash

John Gerald Nash passed away peacefully on August 17, 2020 at the age of 88 at the Hinds Hospice Home in Fresno after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on September 20, 1931 in Oakland, California to Gerald and Leona Nash.

After graduating from Emeryville High School in Oakland, California in 1951, he proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for four years and was a veteran of the Korean War. The Veteran’s Administration helped tremendously with his care towards the end of his life. John retired from PG&E in 1993 after working as a Senior Draftsman for 30 years.

John had a profound love of his Catholic faith, and a passion for classical music. He had many talents and was a gifted artist. John had a special soul and never complained of his many ailments.

John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Maria and his son Jon. He is survived by his sister Geraldine Ramagos and brother Harold Nash, daughters Tricia Hendrix and Geriann Perry, grandchildren Donny, Jon, Korey and Austin Hendrix, Jared and Madeline Perry and great-grandchildren Ethan and Taylor Hendrix.

An outdoor mass will be held at St. Paul Newman Center in Fresno with graveside service immediately following at Tollhouse Cemetery in Tollhouse. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Hinds Hospice, 1616 W. Shaw, #A5, Fresno, CA 93711.
